On Saturday 14th March 2026, 10am-4pm I am running a one-day embroidery workshop at Winterbourne House & Gardens, University of Birmingham.
Designed for nature lovers and stitch enthusiasts alike, Threaded Trees invites you to explore the rich arboretum of Winterbourne House and Garden – from the Nut Walk and Irish Yews to the Pleached Lime Walk – and translate the textures of bark, leaves, and fruit into beautiful textile art.
You’ll discover how stitches like Ghiordes Knot, needle weaving, and couching can bring trees to life in thread. You’ll be encouraged to work from observation or imagination, using simple or advanced 3D stitches to reflect the seasons.
I will share inspiring samples and live demonstrations, helping you design and create your own unique piece.
Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, you’ll receive personal support to build your confidence or extend your skills.
All materials and tuition are provided. Just bring your creativity.
