🌳🌸🐚 Painting & Drawing Nature 🪶🌿🌷 at Warley Woods Community Trust

Once every half term I run a 6 week class called Painting & Drawing Nature  at Warley Woods Community Trust. Classes run on Wednesday mornings in the Pagdam Room in The Pavillion, 10.30am until 12.30pm.

The 6 week block costs £133 per person (I’m afraid single weeks cannot be bought)

For the most part basic materials are provided but you will need to bring your own paper (details sent after booking)

25th November, 2nd December, 9th December.

This class is suitable for beginners and those with experience. This is what other participants have said:

Over the 6 weeks we’ll delve into all sorts of art materials and processes, reference nature itself and also the way past and present artists work. You will be able to learn and extend skills, make your own work in the way you want to with guidance as you wish and enjoy your creativity and be part of a very welcoming, sociable group.

During this past course we have worked with a variety of materials and methods looking at still life, landscapes and flowers. Using the work of Carolina Rabei as inspiration and chalk pastel, we experimented with shapes and line work. Using Mary Delaney for reference we painted florals in gouache or acrylic paint onto black paper creating instant atmosphere and mood. In week 3 the work of Hannah Rollings inspired us to turn up the colour dial and go Fauvist! We got to grips interpreting lettering in a still life context when we used mix-media to create tin cans and wildflowers still life and we ended the 6 week block with a material mix session where each flower had an accompanying mystery bag of materials to use to capture a rendition with.
