Past class – ‘Bird’s Eye View is new way to see still life…literally’ for The Spotted Dog Art Group, Nottingham, June 2025

I have been tutoring at the Spotted Dog Art Group in Nottingham for 12 years now. They are a lovely group of people and very talented painters.

The focus was on composition, which can be a big driver in the success of a painting. We used low tables to set up still lives so that they could paint the view from the top. It’s not often we get that view so it always brings something dynamic to a painting.
