I am not tiring yet of petite teacups and little biscuits. I think this marvellous weather is inspiring the idea of a little refreshing tea and biscuit taken in the afternoon sun – cake is for winter, but macaroons and petit fours are for summer. All I need now to complete the picture is a white linen two piece, a parasol and a butler.
This Wedgwood cup was a gift to me for Valentines day this year – Â bought to remind me of my luberly husband as this green is his favourite green. Hence the name “Ollie’s favourite cup.”
It proved to be a hard colour to find coordinating fabrics for – it’s not quite lime or pale green – all the fabrics were from old ranges of Heather Bailey left over from my first quilt. I love painting patterns from fabric designs as not only is it pretty but it’s like a study into deconstructing a good design at the same time.
The biscuits are that classic Foxes Party Rings, not quite the quintessential Victorian parlour biscuit but pretty yummy all the same – whether that’s fresh from the box or after 7 hours exposure to the air whilst posing. I call it tidying up thoroughly!
