Tea Table - original painting

Tea Table is an original, one-off gouache watercolour painting.

It’s part of a series of paintings I did looking at Tablescapes and developing unusual compositions. This still life was set up on the floor so I could look down onto it as I painted. The juxtaposed yellow and blue fabrics provide a strong leading line for the eye through the painting and provide a playful way to alternate and contrast the yellow and blue objects making for a balanced but interesting composition.
